**November 1st Special Tour. One day only. CONTACT ME for more details**The cemetery opened it’s gates to the deceased in 1883. In 2008 the authorities began tours in Catalan and Spanish but there is no information, anecdotes nor tours in English until NOW. Aside from the tour I’ll be taking you on, I’ll let you in on some of the secrets, traditions and the hidden and least talked about tales of the angels and demons of Montjuic. Not just a cemetery it’s a show piece of 19th century modernisme. We’ll meet by Parallel metro station (green line) and catch the bus to the cemetary where we’ll begin our artistic walk and exploration of the cemetary of Montjuic. I’ll talk a little about the history of the area and the cemetary itself and about the historical, economical and social influences that played a key role in its development over the decades. There are a number of grave sites and burials that have a distinctive design and or story behind them. We’ll follow a planned artistic route covering 37 of the most famous graves. The route will provide us with some interesting views of the sea port and Mediterranean as well as some lovely views of the cemetary itself which is made up of 57 acres and over 150,000 graves and mausoleums.
I’m a nature loving and hiking enthusiast from London living in Barcelona. I’ve been guiding people around the city and around the lesser known parts of the city for half a decade. A keen explorer I have travelled all of Spain, the USA and Africa. Barcelona has so much to offer and I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge.
Travel tickets for local transport will be included
