Learn about the glorious general and his successful conquest of Europe. Hear how an obscure officer became Emperor thanks to his military genius., and end your visit at his breathtaking tomb. Exiled until his death in 1821, his body was returned to France and placed here in the enormous sarcophagus built specially for him. His son, nicknamed the Eaglet, is also buried next to him, his body brought to Paris by Hitler in 1940. You’ll also see the exhibits about the D-Day Landings in Normandy and the Liberation of Paris in 1944. During La Resistance under German occupation in the 1940s, two British pilots were hidden in this very structure! Charles de Gaulle kept up French morale while directing the Free French Forces, and D-Day was a success thanks to our allies. We are a group of local guides living in Paris. We met thanks to our studies to obtain the official license from the French Ministry of Culture allowing us to guide in Paris. We studied art, architecture, French history, literature, geography and much more!
