프로그램
The workshop starts at 10am. After introductions we'll show you how it's done by demonstrating the 5 steps to making a pot on the potter's wheel. Then it's time to 'saddle up'! (everybody has a wheel to themselves) As a group, step by step, we'll all progress together through the pot throwing process. After two or three goes together, you'll have got the hang of things. You'll then be encouraged to develop at your own pace with individual tutoring as and when required.
We break for lunch around 1pm. (Please bring a packed lunch) Although we rest for an hour, you are more than welcome to take a shorter break and get back to the wheels for some untutored practice.
In the afternoon there are further demonstrations after which you will work larger lumps of clay, make bigger pots and explore different shapes and forms.
At the end of the workshop and once your wheel has been cleaned, you'll select your favourite two or three pieces, depending on size, to be fired and glazed. (Extra pots can be fired at cost – £6 per 250g payable on the day)
The session ends at 4pm.
Your creations will be shipped right to your door, arriving approx. one month later (to one address in the UK) ready to take pride of place in your home.
Other things to note
Although you are required to bring an apron, it's worth considering your clothing and foot-ware. There is a certain degree of splashing and splattering so dark colours are easier to wash.

Eastnor Pottery & The Flying Potter was established by myself Jon Williams and wife Sarah in 1994. We met at art-school in the early 90's and graduated with BA Hons in Ceramics....and a burning ambition to make pottery! Our studio serves as a creative space where we produce not only individual pots and works of ceramic art, but share our passion and enthusiasm for clay with others. We have a combined experience of over 40 years working with adults, young people and children from our idyllic Herefordshire studio and in other community, educational and business settings all over the UK.
