A half day deep dive in to the local food and cuisine of the area for people who want to satisfy their cravings for authentic local insights that go beyond Google and the Rough Guide. This will include a guided visit through the local market, where you will meet local producers an dthe opportunity to make and indulge in a lovely lunch while filling your head with knowledge and as a bonus you will get a set of recipes and fun local facts to take away with you. We start in the morning with a market visit where we will introduce you to local seasonal ingredients, provide some insights on how you can use these at home and have a chat with some of the local producers. I will then bring you back to our 18th century farmhouse where we will make lunch together – while discussing how you can apply the local approach to cooking to your own meals. Depending on the season we can also harvest from our garden, collect some eggs and milk the goats…so you have a few treats to take away. Following the meal I will return you to Cahors. I am happy to arrange bespoke experiences as well, focusing on specfic ingredients, local wine and cheese, or around holidays and celebratoins, just drop me line and we can make arrangemens suited to a time for you.

I am a lifelong, passionate food geek and self taught cook who has been travelling to France for the last 30 years...and finally made the leap and moved here at the end of 2017. My husband Dominic and I have been immersing ourselves in the local food culture, meeting winemakers and farmers, taking charcuterie courses and finding our way in to family homes where we have been learning the stories behind the local cuisine. We are both excited to share our knowledge and introduce people to the delicious food and wine of the Quercy area.
We will be making and eating lunch together. Lunch will be 3 courses and includes 2 glasses of our favourite local wines

We will be making lunch at our modest 18th Century Quercy Blanc Farmhouse, which is in a the tiny hamlet of Terry, about 15 minutes from Cahors. We have a garden, goats and chickens onsite so many of our ingredient are very very local. We also have a 200 year old working, wood fired bread oven in the house, which used to supply most of the bread to the village.
