We will give you the opportunity to see how traditional Canarian cheese is made, in an artisan way. We will talk about the importance of the animals, their diet, their health and care and how that influences the quality of the milk to result in a better cheese. We will discuss the importance of hygiene in cheese making and how the cheese should be cared for until it is mature enough to be eaten. We will then taste our different cheeses and then you will have the opportunity to purchase any cheeses from our cheesery to take away as presents or to enjoy for yourselves!
We will provide a selection of cheese for you to taste, accompanied by local bread, local olives and water to drink
We are a small farm who make artisan cheese using raw goat and sheep milk. My husband has been around goats all his life, learning from his grandfather at a very young age and is very passionate about goats and Canarian traditions. I was taught the traditional way to make Canarian cheese over 14 years ago by a local lady because I wanted to make cheese from our own milk rather than buy cheese in the supermarket. My hobby turned into a passion and I became fortunate enough to leave my job in tourism and become a full time cheesemaker, opening our very own cheesery
