We'll take a gentle walking tour of New Ross, exploring its epic history from Medieval Knights to the famine refugees of the 1800s, Meeting at the park, we'll walk the lower end of the town, visiting a traditional farmshop were I will explain the producers' stories. Moving up into the town, I'll point out original Victorian shop fronts, the old Gas Lamps, the medieval laneways and certain points of notice, before we stop at the best bakery in Ireland! Picking up some treats here we will continue our historical walk, filled with stories about the people who once lived and worked here, the Highwaymen, the Pirates, the Knights and the Rebels. Finally we finish with a delicious lunch at a local Tearoom. Showcasing the best fresh, local organic and free range farm produce the county has to offer!
I'm the founder of Gallivanting Tours, a company that creates bespoke private tours on the South and East of Ireland, focusing on food, heritage and storytelling. I'm also one of the board members of Taste Wexford, Wexford's Food Tourism Initiative. Through this, I provide Customer Care training, teach food producers how to tell their stories and run food tours. I am also a professional storyteller, from local folklore to the Celtic myths and legends I love it all! Food is a passion of mine, and it is a great way to tell stories and explain Irish Culture.
