Canyoneering is an exciting activity that combines hiking, rappelling, and swimming Christopher Creek canyon is a great beginner canyon and an excellent way to get out of the Arizona heat. This canyon is filled waterfalls and natural rock water slides. It is one of nature's most awe-inspiring water parks. We will meet in Tempe, where everyone will be fitted with wetsuits and harnesses. We will then caravan up to the entrance of the canyon, past Payson on the 260. We then hike from the parking area to the river. At this point we enter the river, where the canyoneering truly begins. Descending the canyon requires hiking over steep, slippery rock, several short swims, and three roped descents (depending on your experience, we can either lower you or you can rappel). There are numerous opportunities for jumping from water falls and swimming. After about 4-6 hours in the canyon, we will follow a small side canyon back to the main road and the cars.
I'm an experienced canyoneer and rock climber. I've led dozens of people through Christopher Creek, including children and nerds. We take all aspects of canyoneering safety very seriously, from assessing the weather to rappelling to finding the best route out of the canyon. I also have a degree in Film and Video Production from New York University, so I can take exciting video and photos for you to impress your friends.

Christopher Creek Canyon is northeast of Phenix Arizona. We'll drive through Payson, AZ and head east on 260 for about 10 miles, before hiking the remainder of the way to the canyon. This Canyon involves spectacular views and it's a lot of fun. It's also a good way to escape the heat in summer.
