After meeting my group and making everyone feel welcome, we will go on a foraging ramble where we taste plants in their raw state and enjoy the beautiful landscape away from the hustle and bustle. I share recipe ideas along the way as we traverse along hedgerows, woodland, creek and estuary before going full circle and ending where we began, to savour the delights I have pre-prepared with foraged ingredients. My walk is about 2 miles with gentle terrain and slow paced as we stop to discuss specific plants. I always practice sustainable foraging and weave this in to my walk to encourage awareness of the environment, leaving plenty behind and never over-harvesting and never uprooting. My aim is to give everyone a unique insight into a new plant, new flavour, new experience and to gain confidence in the delicious art of foraging!
I'm the author of the foraging series Never Mind the Burdocks and have always had a passion for plants with a 'use', from medicinal, edible, design and floristry. I've been foraging for more than 20 years and have run events at Heligan, Eden Project and St. Michael's Mount to name a few plus given talks on seaweeds, cooking demos and general foraging. I ran guided tours at the Eden Project covering everything from general tours to specific ones on medicinal plants, edible ones and plants for perfume. I'm a member of the Association of Foragers and am obsessed with foraged food flavours!

Other places I can forage at are Porthpean where I'll focus on seaweeds, Pendower on the Roseland and Perranuthnoe (my beach, my anchor) which covers hedgerow, coastal and seaweeds. Also can forage at Eden Project in the outer estate, Widemouth Bay near Bude and Hillhead near Porthcothan (North Coast of Cornwall). Each place is away from the madding crowds with a fantastic array of habitats to explore.
