You’ll spend the first hour learning some basic embroidery stitches and get to work on your personal project in the second hour. With teas and coffees included, expect a relaxed and friendly step-by step approach to embroidery. If bringing your own piece, make sure to bring a stable fabric such as cotton or linen, especially if you are a beginner! Don’t worry if you don’t have anything you would like to bring to embroider, we will provide plain t-shirts for you to choose from in exchange for a small donation. Milou will be able to help you at every step of the way. Hand embroidery is a slow but satisfying labour of love and though you might not be able to leave with a finished piece of embroidery, you will certainly know how to continue at home!
As a humanitarian charity dedicated to spreading the power of kindness, The British Red Cross has teamed up with Moody Bright Designs to create the perfect embroidery up-cycling experience. Set in our famous Kensington and Chelsea shop, filled with beautiful designer pieces, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the basics of embroidery. Bring your own garment, or choose from a selection of designer t-shirts that you can embellish for a small donation. With a background in Fine Art and painting, Milou teaches workshops across London and makes unique embroidery pieces using recycled textiles.
British Red Cross
The British Red Cross helps millions of people in the UK and around the world get the support they need if crisis strikes. We’re part of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, and we believe in the power of kindness. From hiring a wheelchair or dealing with loneliness, to adjusting to life in a new country- we’re there when we’re needed. Every pound we receive will help fund this support.
