Storytelling is all the rage across the US and especially in the Bay Area which hosts the largest Moth GrandSLAM in the country. Tap into the creative, funky cool spirit of Oakland (the Bay Area's new artistic center) in this class with Moth GrandSLAM and 4X StorySLAM winner Mindy Myers. Learn how to tell powerful true stories. Mindy will share her tips for finding the story that only you can tell, help you turn heartbreak, humiliation and tragedy into a riveting five-minute piece that is the perfect mix of vulnerability and comedic vavoom. In this one night storytelling workshop in Oakland, you’ll learn how to write from the gut, find what’s funny in your foibles, and structure a compelling story. By the end of the class, you’ll have written the beginnings of an unforgettable story that you could tell at The Moth, at a business presentation, or at your next dinner party.
