Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand formerly known as Doi Luang (means large mountain). The name Doi Inthanon was given to honor the last king of Chiang Mai, Inthawichayanon who tried to preserve the forests. The park covers 482.4 KM and spreads from the lowlands at 800 m elevation up to the peak at 2,565 m. At the summit, you'll find a Royal Thai Air Force Weather Radar and The Thai National Observatory at KM 44.
