From several years of tour guide experiences, I often heard people ask "where can I get these things?" Kimono, clothes, scarf, Japanese knife, Japanese cosmetics, stationary, and the best green tea etc. In this experience, we'll explore small boutique shops in downtown that sell these products, or anything you plan to buy. Basically I open this experiences only for one group of guests. So you can tell me what you want to buy, and I'll arrange where to go. Usually we'll stop five shops or so. For example: -Kyoto Kimono style cloth shop. -Antique Kimono shop - Japanese knife shop which start their business 450 years ago as a sword maker then they use their technic to make knifes. - Japanese organic cosmetic shops - Stationary store where you can get various goods. - 300 years old tea shop -Japanese paper (wash) shop - textile shop I'm looking forward to see you soon!
I’m Akari originally from Kyushu, south part of Japan. I studied in Tokyo, worked in Kyoto once, then I travled around the world by cruise ship as an international youth program staff, then I lived and worked in NL and PEI of Canada for two years and half and I came back to Kyoto. After the many years of travel, now I want to share my own culture with other people. So I teach Japanese online, and enjoys introducing beautiful Kyoto. For the last three years I have guided more than 500 tourists in Kyoto. I never get tired of living here because there are so many beautiful spots to check out. I live near the downtown Kyoto, and in this experience, I'll bring you one of my favorite areas of downtown Kyoto. I'm looking forward to see you soon!

Downtown Kyoto is made in a grid shape. Each street has a name related to their history. I'd like to share not only shop info but also Kyoto's history and culture.
