The city centre of Vienna with all its grandeur is impressive, but on this tour I want to introduce you to Vienna off the beaten track. At least off the beaten tourist track. We will stroll along bustling streets and squares filled with locals, but also discover quiet hidden alleys and courtyards. We will have a look at some unusual sights, admire modern street art alongside Art Nouveau architecture, walk through fashionable hipster districts and enter the heart of student life. We will also see some impressive futuristic architecture that you would not expect in the capital of Baroque. At the end we will watch (or even join!) the Viennese having fun in an old-school amusement park. While walking through local neighbourhoods I will recommend some of my favourite places to eat and go out. Some of the questions that will be answered: How come Viennese students study in a space ship? What does the 4th most beautiful staircase in Europe look like? What's a Viennese through-house? Who is the "muse who's had it"? This is also a great opportunity to make your Instagram followers jealous - don’t forget you camera!
WINTER BREAK FROM NOVEMBER Hi! I'm Hannes, Austrian born and Viennese by choice. I studied tourism management and started working as tour guide across Europe after my graduation. On these trips I developed a passion for exploring cities beyond their main sights. What I enjoyed the most was discovering hidden corners and alleys by walking through local neighbourhoods. After a couple of years on the road, taking travelers from one beautiful place to another, I decided to return home. Back in Vienna I've studied to become a certified tour guide and have been raving about Vienna’s history and beauty ever since.
