*Note - For a fully personalized private lesson, please message me through Airbnb before booking. Our day will take place in my home - a home previously occupied by my dear Aunt Patiew - tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on On Nut road in Bangkok. Guests will be welcomed into the house and brought to the dining room, where we’ll sit and have coffee, and get to know each other, while we go over the menu for the day that we will be learning. The menu will be curated by me beforehand and will showcase different regional dishes of Thailand as well as hopefully introduce guests to new dishes they haven’t tried before. We will not be cooking “basic” Thai dishes like Phad Thai, spring rolls (which aren’t even Thai), and traffic light colored curries. There will be 5 dishes per class, with one of the dishes being served towards the beginning of class, and the rest for dinner as part of a Thai meal. Dishes will be prepared from scratch, from picking herbs to hand-pounding curry pastes. Throughout the day, I’ll provide insight on the history of the dishes we’re cooking and maybe some related stories as well. The day will end with a full Thai meal in my dining room (including drinks - this is Thailand) where guests will feel like they’re dining in a friend’s home - because, they are.

Hi! My name is Dylan (@d.eitharong) , and I’m a half-Thai, half-American Thai food-obsessed chef living in Bangkok. For almost a decade, I’ve been devoting most of my time to learning about Thai cuisine and its place in Thai culture, practicing classic Thai cooking techniques, and perfecting my own takes on Thai dishes. In 2015, I launched Florida’s first Thai street food pop-up / street vendor in my hometown of Orlando (@bangrakthaistreetkitchen). We were immediately successful, and this business allowed me to travel back and forth to Thailand frequently to keep educating myself and trying new dishes. In 2019, however, I decided to relocate permanently to Bangkok to immerse myself in my cultural culinary heritage, and to have the opportunity to share my knowledge of Thai cuisine with travelers and locals alike - starting right here.
You’ll get a full Thai meal for dinner - prepared by you! (That includes rice!)
Bottled water will be in the fridge, as well as one beer if you’d like!
Cooking equipment (knives, etc., will be provided, but feel free to bring your own)

The day will be spent entirely at my home in the kitchen - with an occasional run to the local market.
