Recently matcha green tea has become very popular all around the world. As you may know, matcha plays a very important role in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. However, learning about Japanese tea ceremony means much more than just learning to make matcha. Let's find the concept and philosophy behind this performing art. At first, you will learn the basic concepts and ideas of tea ceremony. You will also learn how to behave in a tea room and appreciate its decoration. Next, you'll watch a demonstration of "the way of tea". We think you will enjoy the quiet and serene atmosphere. And now let's make your own tea! We will tell you how to drink it, and also serve you a specially selected Japanese cake. Come, step into the world of profound spirituality and set your soul free, and let's have fun together!! * If someone in your group needs to be interpreted English into your own language, please contact us before booking. - Facebook Page: Ami Kyoto - Instagram: @ami_kyoto
Hi, I'm Mari. I'm a manager of our facility and honored to provide a tea ceremony session for foreign visitors. I used to work in Florida, the US and introduced Japanese culture to people from all over the world. This gave me a chance to realize again that our traditional culture is unique. I myself belong to Yabunouchi tea school. Our utensils and decoration in a tea room are supervised and carefully selected by our great tea master. I'd love to share how profound the spirituality of tea ceremony is, and how fun it would be when you adopt it into your daily life! We work as a team, so Kimi, Shoko or Hitomi may welcome you on your appointed day. Thank you for understanding.
