Let's make Japanese chopsticks using wood. Everyone can enjoy it even kids. The chopsticks can be used as not only yourself but also a gift for family and friends. 1) Learn Let's learn the features of Japanese chopsticks. 2) Shave Let's shave the wood by using a jig and a KANNA which is the Japanese planer after wearing a cotton work glove. Caution; please be careful of the plate on the KANNA to avoid minor injury. 3) Polish Let's use sandpaper to smoothen the roughness (Start with the roughest file). 4) Beautify Let's give a shiny texture to our wood by putting beeswax on it which is a substance secreted by bees. 5) Design a chopsticks bag Let's design a chopsticks bag by using a pen/Japanese writing brush/stamp. I can also customize the bag by writing your name in Japanese. [Before using the chopsticks] Dry: Please put your chopsticks in a chopsticks bag and after you arrived in your hotel/home, take out the chopsticks and let them dried naturally for more than 6 hours. Wash: Before using the chopsticks for the first time, please wash them well using a dish-washing soap(neutral detergent). [After using the chopsticks] Please wash and dry them properly. In order to prolong the life of chopsticks, don't soak in the water for a long time and don't use a tableware washer machine.

My name is Isseki, I live in Tokyo with my family including my nine-year-old daughter. We love traveling and we travel abroad once a year. Since I am highly interested in cultural diversity, let us share and exchange pieces of knowledge with each other. In my childhood, I lived in Kanuma city in Japan which is also known as the"Carpenter city” for 13 years. Since I was a leader of an organization called the Boy Scouts there, I gained special traditional experiences as a carpenter, such as making some tableware or decorative trees. I want to share this knowledge in this experience. As my English skill is not good yet, please ask me whenever you don't understand what I'm saying. I will do my best to create this a great memory for you. Instagram: @tokyoexperiences
