The Story:
My Vegan PopUp Brunch is inspired by the Natural Foods Diet practiced by the original Rastafarians of Jamaica.
Clean Eating was considered a sacred duty, Vital ( Ital in Rastafaian) to a healthy life and the Communal Organic Garden was a main feature of Rasta Culture.
Herbs in all forms are celebrated as gifts from the earth and are used Medicinally, Ceremonially as well as flavor enhancer for food in place of salt and other additives.
Meat and processed foods are avoided and although some fish are allowed they cannot be more than twelve inches in length!!
To honor this healthy tradition, your Humble Host will roam SoFlo's farmers markets and green grocers to gather the freshest fruits, vegetables and produce. Herbs from my garden complete our fresh market basket.
After a fun filled Saturday night...Sunday morning you wake
up with a post party appetite!
You don't need food that just fills you up, you deserve a home cooked meal that feeds and nourishes... This brunch is for you!
a) 11:00 AM we gather at my place.
b) Welcome and introductions
c) Each guest select one or two items from our market basket which they will prep. for cooking or juicing or salad to create our healthy grazing table.
We'll eat together under my comfy backyard pergola.

My love for cooking started when I was very young watching my mother create delicious meals with all homegrown ingredients. By age twelve I was cooking for the family and making my own jams and jellies from fruits and wild berries which grew in abundance around our rural home.
In primary school I would volunteer to help in the cafeteria and in high school cookery class was my favorite!
I completed several courses in foodservice management and
was a restarant owner/manager in Jamaica for several years before emigrating to to the US.
