Let us take you back to the time when New York City was called New Amsterdam! While it may seem to the untrained eye that there isn't much left of that time period... you will see, touch and experience remnants of that era spread out all throughout today's downtown Manhattan! We will walk the city's original coastline, discover a forgotten cannon that used to protect the city, see the remnants of Manhattan's very first City Hall which was also a pub... cheers to that! You will discover New York City’s founding myths and facts while standing in the very spots they all happened. Equipped with Manhattan's first map in hand we will discover the many hidden Dutch relics south of Wall Street and trace the streets of Manhattan in 1667!
Hi! I'm a tour guide and Chief Experience Officer at Untapped New York! Together with my awesome partners Mandy, Gabby and Maxine we will host your experience! I grew up in New York and always had a passion for NYC's diverse history which I have been excited to share with locals and visitors alike for the last few years. After writing several plays about New York, I decided to take the plays out of the theaters and directly into the streets... where the stories actually happened! I can't wait to explore the city with you and show you its hidden gems!
We will start this experience at Bowling Green and continue our exploration in the streets south of Wall Street!
