A three-day bicycle trip through Tuscany in search of traces and testimonies of the main communication route of central Italy in the Middle Ages: the Via Francigena. A way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region by following the ancient pilgrimage route that led to Rome, the "eternal city".
Starting from Lucca we will head towards the hills of the Tuscan countryside. You will find yourself immersed in the solitude of the wheat fields, contemplating different vilages: S. Miniato, Gambassi Terme, a constellation of villages on the ridges, the farmhouses, the vineyards, the Romanesque parish churches among the olive trees. The towers of San Gimignano and those of the round circle of Monteriggioni stand out, to which we'll arrive by following white roads bordered by cypresses. Waiting for us, as the final destination, is the city of Siena, one of the focal points of the road in the past, and still today one of the major artistic centers of the region. The best way to return home knowing that you have lived a land with all your senses!
