Come learn about some of the Spies that lived in operated in Georgetown in the WWII era. These movers and shakers influenced pre- and post- war policy, and played friend and foe alike to the Soviets. Learn more about the origins of the CIA, the persistent tension between CIA and FBI, and spies who sold U.S. and Soviet secrets. We'll visit the former homes of William "Wild Bill" Donovan, William Colby, Roald Dahl, and Alger Hiss and see places linked to the espionage activities of Elizabeth Bentley, Vitaly Yurchenko, and today's top spies. We'll talk about Cold War-era games of smoke and mirrors between the U.S. and the Soviets. Do these games continue to play out in current U.S. - Russia relations?
Along the way, participants will be asked to put on their spy hats and consider the role of surveillance in an operative's daily life. Hear (cleared) insider stories and discuss other themes like: Becoming a Intelligence Operative; Being Female in the Intelligence World; Teaming with Outside Agencies to Advance a Common Mission and; HUMINT in a Tech-centric World.

방문 장소
This 1.5 hr walking tour begins in northwest Georgetown and crosses over Wisconsin Ave. to northeast Georgetown and then south towards M Street. We spend most of the tour away from the hustle and bustle of Wisconsin Ave. and M Street, in quieter neighborhoods that have remained timeless. Please note we will end at Martin's Tavern on Wisconsin, away from the starting point.

Rosanna’s background and experience allowed her to give a unique perspective on spies, both US ones and foreign spies. She added stories about her experiences in the field that gave great credibility to the stories she told. Highly recommend!

Rosanna was a great guide into the world of the CIA and counterintelligence. Her experience in the agency gave her the ability to really drop some kn9wledge about the day to day for field operatives. Hearing how they interact with each other was great. This 2as a 7nique experiance outside of the National Mall area and was a great walk through a beautiful neighborhood. I would highly recommend the tour to others.

I really wanted to like this tour but it just wasn't worth the price. Rosanna was a good tour guide, very personable and seemed very knowledgable, but what she shared was extremely superficial (even though the information is public). We walked to different houses in Georgetown and the associated stories were lacking in substance. It seemed as if the host expected us to already know who the individuals she spoke of were and what they did as spies. I recognized 2 names she mentioned: Julia Child and Roald Dahl. I booked the tour to learn about spies but instead I saw houses and heard names of people I would later need to Google for the stories.

Very fun! Easy walk, and quite fun on a good day. Lots of particular insight and the tour is personalized as Rosanna is very open to questions or comments. She engages the group a lot so it doesn't feel like a stale audio tour and actually feels like you have a guide. She shares some (cleared) personal stories that really changed my perspective of her field!
