As you walk in, we think you’ll find the apartment has a certain ‘wow factor’. Its tiled floor with clean lines provides for modern uncluttered living, with everything you need.
We would bring to your attention that this apartment is on the lower ground floor. but don't be deterred as you can see from the photos, it is a bright and airy apartment. Lots of natural light comes streaming in through the large sash windows and there is a decent space between these and the retaining wall, and it is not very low into the ground. One other point to mention is that you can hear a very faint rumble of the tube from time to time, at first you won't even notice it, and if you read through all the reviews only two people have mentioned it and neither of them in a negative way, but we felt we should make you aware of this. On the other hand the location and presentation of the apartment more than compensate.
All towels and bedding are of high quality cotton and these will be replaced weekly. At extra cost, we offer a daily maid service as an option. We hope we have provided everything you will need for a comfortable stay, but do not be afraid to ask. As we live nearby we can normally respond quite promptly to ensure you enjoy your time in London. With local knowledge we are happy to help whenever we can,
Free WIFI super fast broad band,
Flat-screen, Virgin Cable TV with Sky, Blue Ray DVD Player, with games, books, and local information.
We bought this apartment three years ago to refurbish as our principal home. Now that our daughter has returned to live with us, we decided to rent out our Knightsbridge apartment, and rent somewhere slightly bigger for ourselves. Our refurbishment was carried out to a very high standard using top quality materials whilst care was taken to retain the character and style of the building. We have installed Miele and Bosch appliances in the kitchen, Paolo Marchetti furniture in the living and bedrooms with a bathroom by Porcelanosa. The Porcelanosa marble style floor has underfloor heating through-out for convenience and comfort.
Now, we have created a home-from-home style rental, where we have left most of our furniture, pictures and fittings in situ for your enjoyment, avoiding the use of standard holiday fare.
You will find the location ideally situated for a great holiday and hard to beat. Just stepping out the front door ......
You are literally across the road from three world famous museums, the Victoria and Albert, the Natural History and the Science Museum. Even nearer is the Brompton Oratory. A five minute walk, yes a five minute walk, takes you to the renowned Harrods Department Store. Further afield, though still within walking distance, is the swanky Kings Road, huge Hyde Park, trendy Kensington High Street and The Royal Albert Hall. And then a short tube (underground) or bus journey will take you to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Soho, Shaftesbury Avenue, the list is endless!
Again, it’s a shoppers heaven from street markets to boutique designer shops you choose. Westfield, with over forty luxury brands under one roof, world-famous Oxford Street, Sloane Street, and more.
For day-to-day needs, there are many good shops just around the corner. Waitrose is my all-time favourite, especially if you wish to cook your own meals - a little more expensive but brilliant for quality. Then, of course, Marks and Spencer offer endless convenience meals when you just want something nice to pop in the oven if you’re in a hurry. Many other supermarkets abound like Tesco, Sainsbury, all within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. There are excellent butchers, fishmongers and fruit and veg shops nearby too. On Saturday mornings, a great French street market about ten minutes can be found in Bute Street, but you may prefer to go to Paris, France for that – 3 hours by TGV! There are many quality French bakeries and specialist food shops too! Last but not least, don’t forget to visit the Harrods Food Hall - it’s really quite something.
South Kensington and Knightsbridge are the closest tube stations, both served by the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines. Just across the road are numerous buses going in all directions. For those seeking a little excitement, why not hire a Barclays ‘Boris Bike’ from across the road. Or simply take a taxi cab – you shouldn’t need to wait more than a minute or two.
Eating Out/Going Out, Theatre, Musicals:
Well, where to start? London has to be the most cosmopolitan city in the world from where you can experience almost any cuisine you could imagine. With restaurants to suit every budget, eating well without spending a fortune. If you’re stumped for a venue we can certainly help out there. Places like (website hidden), Groupon and Wowcher all offer good ‘theatre-with-a-meal’ deals.
if you wish to leave the city for a day or two! Windsor, Stonehenge, Brighton, Bath, Oxford, Cambridge, are all easy day trips, worth considering if you have the time.
